This site is built to WCAG 2.1 level AA. That is a target we test against on every build rather than a badge — and where we fall short, we would rather hear about it than have you give up and ring somebody else.
What we do on every build
- Automated accessibility checks run over every page of the site before it ships, not over a sample.
- Every page is checked at four widths, including a 390px phone, so nothing overflows or clips.
- Contrast on photographic headers is calculated against the brightest image the layout could ever receive, not against the picture that happens to be there today.
- The whole site works with JavaScript turned off. Every form submits, every question on a FAQ page is already in the page, and the menu opens.
- Every photograph carries a description written by a person.
What we have deliberately chosen
- Body text is set at a size and line height meant to be read by someone in their sixties on a phone in daylight, not at the smallest size that still looks tidy.
- Interactive targets are at least 44 by 44 pixels.
- Colour is never the only thing carrying meaning. Waypoint Tan is a fill, a rule and a mark; it is never the only signal that something is a link or a state.
- Motion is minimal, and everything that moves stops for anyone whose device asks for reduced motion.
- The site respects your system's light or dark preference.
What is not covered
Automated checks find a large share of problems and not all of them. This site has not had a full manual audit by a specialist, and it has not been tested end to end with every screen reader. Third-party content — a map link, a review profile, an anti-spam widget — is served by those companies and we do not control how accessible it is.
If something does not work
Tell us what page you were on and what happened, and we will fix it. If the site is the barrier, the phone is not: the number below is answered by a person, and we are happy to take everything over the phone instead.
