We install and repair seamless gutters, downspouts and gutter guards, and we replace them at the same time as a roof so the drip edge, the starter course and the gutter tie in correctly. Hail dents gutters and downspouts, and that damage goes in the same photo report as your roof. The short answer
The short version: most gutter complaints in this part of Texas are capacity and slope problems rather than product problems. A trough that is too small, or a house with too few downspouts, will overflow in a Hill Country downpour no matter what it is made of and no matter what is clipped on top of it.
What does seamless actually mean?
That the trough is roll-formed on site from a coil, in one continuous length per run, so the only joints on your house are at the corners and the outlets. Sectional gutter — the ten-foot lengths from a home centre — is joined every ten feet, and every one of those joints is a seam that will eventually leak and stain the fascia below it. Seamless is not a premium product, it is the ordinary way a gutter is made when somebody brings a brake to the job.
Do I need 5-inch or 6-inch gutters?
It depends on how much roof drains into the run and how steep that roof is. A 6-inch trough carries substantially more water than a 5-inch one, and it pairs with a larger downspout, which is usually the real bottleneck. Long runs, steep slopes, big valleys dumping into one corner, and metal roofs — which shed fast and hard — all point to 6-inch. Small simple roofs with several outlets are fine at 5-inch. We size from your roof, not from what the last crew put up.
Where should the downspouts go?
More of them, in the right places, fixes more overflow complaints than any other change we make. Every long run needs an outlet at a reasonable interval and every valley that concentrates water needs one close to where it lands. Then the water has to actually leave: a downspout discharging against the slab is a foundation problem waiting, and around here that is an expensive one. We extend, and where the grade fights us we say so before the gutter goes up rather than after you call about the puddle.
Are gutter guards worth it?
Honestly: they reduce cleaning, they do not end it, and the wrong one makes things worse. A good micro-mesh guard keeps oak leaves and pine needles out of the trough, and it still collects grit and pollen on its surface that has to be brushed off. Foam inserts hold water and rot. Reverse-curve products can shed heavy rain straight over the front in a real downpour. And no guard fixes an undersized gutter. If somebody tells you a guard means you will never get on a ladder again, they are selling.
Is hail damage to gutters a claim line item?
Frequently, yes. Aluminium dents visibly, downspouts crumple, and a hail event heavy enough to bruise a shingle mat almost always leaves a record on the gutters and the wraps. We photograph it elevation by elevation with the roof, count the damaged runs, and give you a report you keep. You file your own claim and we do not promise an outcome — what we do is document, meet your adjuster on site if you invite us, and build to the approved scope. Why sequence gutters with the roof?
Because they share a joint. The drip edge has to sit over the back of the gutter and under the underlayment; get that order wrong and water runs behind the trough and down the fascia for years. How a gutter job runs
- We measure the roof that drains into each run. Slope, run length and where the valleys land, which is what decides size and outlet count.
- We look at the fascia. Rotten fascia will not hold a hanger, and it is better found now than after the coil is formed.
- Written scope. Size, colour, hanger spacing, downspout count and placement, extensions, guards if you want them.
- Formed on site and hung. One continuous run per elevation, sloped to the outlets.
- Water test, walkthrough, then payment. No deposit; you pay when it is finished.

Common questions
Should I replace my gutters when I replace my roof?
If they are near the end of their life, yes — the drip edge, the starter course and the gutter all meet at the same three inches of roof, and doing them together is the only way that joint gets built once. If the gutters are sound we take them down, protect them and rehang them. What we will not do is leave a bent, sagging gutter on a brand-new roof and call the job finished.
Does insurance cover hail-dented gutters?
Gutters and downspouts are commonly a line item on a hail claim, and dented aluminium is straightforward to photograph. Whether your policy pays, and whether it treats denting as cosmetic, is between you and your carrier. We count and photograph the damage elevation by elevation so the number in the report is checkable. You file the claim; we document.
How often do gutters need cleaning here?
Twice a year is the usual answer, and under live oaks it is more, because oak catkins and leaf litter pack into a wet trough and set. If you cannot safely do it, have somebody do it — an overflowing gutter dumps water at the foundation, which is a far more expensive problem than the gutter.
Can you match my existing gutter colour?
Usually. Aluminium coil comes in a wide colour range and we match to the fascia and trim rather than guessing from a chart. On a partial replacement we hold the coil against the existing run in daylight first, because a decade of sun shifts the colour of what is already up there.
