Lakeway roofing contractor
Lakeway is about 13 miles from our Dripping Springs office in a straight line. Five Lakeway jobs are published in our project record between 1 July and 29 August 2026, with thirteen photographs we took ourselves. Four of the five were survey work rather than repair: we climbed the roof, photographed what we found, and the visit ended with a photo set rather than an invoice.

Where we’ve worked in Lakeway
Most of our Lakeway work has been in The Preserve at Lakeway and The Boulevard, in ZIP 78734, with one job further west in 78738. Three of the five are in The Preserve — a gutter and downspout check, a ridge-cap and chimney repair, and a steep shingle roof photographed at the dormers — and the attic inspection was in The Boulevard. The 78738 job is the big stone and stucco house we walked under a gathering sky in July.
Two subdivisions and two ZIPs is what five jobs supports, and it is where the section stops. Anything longer would have to come from somewhere other than our own job records.
Hail that has actually hit Lakeway
Travis County has 22 separate days with at least one hail report of an inch or more in NOAA’s Storm Events Database between 2019 and May 2026, five of them with stones of two inches or more, and the largest single report in the file is 3.00 inches on 24 September 2023, at Pflugerville and Fiskville — the far side of the county from here. Lakeway itself is a different story.
Honestly: not much, and we are going to say so rather than borrow a neighbour’s storm. Across seven years of NOAA records the name Lakeway appears only as the Austin-Lakeway airport reporting station, four times in total, and only one of those four reaches an inch — 1.00 inch on 27 March 2024. That report’s own narrative places the hail near Hamilton Pool Rd and RR 12, west of Bee Cave, which is to say the station is where it was measured and not necessarily where it fell. The other three Lakeway-station reports are pea to nickel sized.
Nearby is a different matter. On 1 April 2024 the record has 1.50-inch hail at Bee Cave and 1.50-inch hail reported through the Marshall Ford station in the Apache Shores neighbourhood, and on 23 March 2025 an inch at Bee Cave again. Those are close enough to be worth knowing about and they are not Lakeway, and a roofer who presents them as Lakeway hail is selling you a map instead of a record. If somebody knocked on your door quoting a big number and a big date, ask them which reporting station it came from.

What the roofs are like here
Read across the five jobs and Lakeway is the biggest, steepest, most cut-up stock we work on. Both of the houses we photographed at the elevation are two-storey stone and stucco — one with a circular driveway, one framed by oaks with a steep grey shingle roof — and what we spent our time on in both cases was valleys and dormers. More slopes meeting means more valleys, and more dormers and penetrations means more flashing, and every one of those is a place water gets redirected into the house rather than off it. The valley-and-pipe-boot frames on the 78738 job are there because that is where the risk lives on a roof shaped like that.
The one repair on this page is the pattern in miniature: ridge cap shingles lifted along an edge, and a chimney cap whose wood trim had rotted out around the spark arrestor, with a tarp over the affected area while we photographed it. Trim and caps at height fail before the field does on these houses, and they are easy to miss from the ground on a roof this tall.
One of the inspections was done from inside the attic — pipe boot sealed around a vent penetration, rafter baffles, an insulated run through the framing. On a large steep roof that is often the faster way to answer the question, because you can see the deck from below without taking anything apart.

Lakeway is close enough to the office that a survey visit is normally days, not weeks, and four of the five jobs on this page were exactly that: come out, walk it, photograph what is there. If water is coming in, say so on the call and it goes ahead of documentation work.
Which permits does Lakeway require for a re-roof?
Check with the City of Lakeway before you sign anything with anybody, and check with your HOA in the same week — several Lakeway subdivisions run an architectural committee whose approval is a separate clock from the city’s. We are not going to publish a fee or a rule we have not verified against the city’s own page. What we do is straightforward: we pull the permit where one is required, it is written into the scope rather than added later, and the inspection appointment is ours to keep.
Has Lakeway actually been hit by hail?

Because none of the five needed one. Three were inspections, one was a repair to lifted ridge caps and a chimney cap whose wood trim had rotted through, and one was a gutter and downspout check. We photograph what we find and tell you what it means, and on a young, well-kept roof that conversation ends without an invoice.
